It’s not often that you can get t-shirts designed by major figures of world cinema, and even less often for a better cause: Chris Marker invokes his trademark character, Guillaume-en-egypte, for Barack Obama at Wexner Center for the Arts.

    Doug, have you had a chance to see Agnes Varda’s latest film, The Beaches of Agnes? Chris Marker interviews Varda briefly, but to protect his privacy his voice is disguised and his image is covered by … an animated cat.

    Ha–that’s great. No, I haven’t seen it but I’d love to. Doesn’t Varda receive some mail in The Gleaners and I that’s signed by a cat?
